Ashley is a native of Shelby County. She graduated from Collierville High School.

She attended the University of Alabama where she graduated cum laude with a degree in American Studies and Public Relations. Ashley received her Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law.

Ashley is married to John Bennett and has three children.
